The attention of the management of Nigeria security and Civil Defence Corps Kano State command has been drawn to a fake and misleading information making the rounds that the corps is recruiting. The State command of the corps wishes to draw the attention of the general public and hereby state unequivocally that civil defence is NOT RECRUITING regular Staff in Kano; but is only training its volunteer staff for better service delivery.
To set the record straight, when the current state Commandant assumed mantle of leadership in November last year (2025), he met over ten thousand (10,000) volunteers in the command and there are reports of unethical conducts and display of attitude not in conformity with the service best practices from some of the volunteers which negatively affect the good image of the corps.

Consequently, the command embarked on screening of the volunteers after which the number (10,000) has now been drastically cut short to three thousand (3,000) for easy management.

At the moment, the volunteer staff are undergoing training at the command’s headquarters to keep them abreast of the basic knowledge and rudiments of the service.
At the end of the exercise, they will be issued with a certificate of attendance, identification number and an identity card.

The general public are hereby informed that the essence of the training program is to among other things curb and address the incessant cases of unethical conduct in the ranks of the volunteers and at the same time help in checkmating the intrusion of impersonators who unfortunately perpetrate evils in the name of civil defence.
On this note, however, our doors remain open for those who want to seek for clarification on the issue of volunteers.
